We visited this restaurant around 8 on a Friday night and found that it was about half full. They do take-out and delivery, and at first it was a little unclear whether there was a wait person or we should order at the counter, but they do have regular table service, though it wasn't the most attentive. The menu is large and reasonably priced, and the dishes are more or less the same as the vegetarian options you would expect at other Indian restaurants in Chicago. The restaurant is also BYOB, so that makes it even more reasonably-priced, if you like to have wine or beer. The food, however, wasn't as good as I'm used to getting from my favorite Indian restaurants. There wasn't anything wrong...

My boyfriend and I were on our way to try one of the various Indian restaurants on Devon, but before we got to the restaurant we went there for, we came across Uru-Swati. There was a big sign that said 100% pure vegetarian, it was really nice looking so we chose to go there instead. We made a great decision because the food was so amazing! They even listened to me when I asked for it Indian spicy. We really liked the decor and felt that it was more inviting than some of the other places (on Devon) that we had been to. We got an appetizer, two entrees, and naan; I was shocked to see that our bill was only $21! Wow! This is now among my top Indian places to eat at on Devon.

I went there for lunch on a Monday. I had planned on going to Arya Bhavan down the road, but they're not open for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was about half full. Service is a little slow. The menu does not mark items as vegan, and the waiter seemed a little iffy on what is and isn't vegan. In the end, I did end up with most likely vegan food that was pretty tasty. I got the 2-foot giant dosa, filled with potatoes, plus a starter of samosas. The food was very tasty, and the prices are on the lower end: The bill was 13 dollars for everything, and I was completely stuffed. Would go again.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and remained hot and fresh even through delivery. I personally enjoy the Mysore Dosa, while my wife loves the bhel. Some bites were a bit too spicy for our taste, so we recommend asking for mild if you can't handle the heat. The pakoras and rotis are excellent, tasting just like homemade. The pani puri is also very good. The Dal Tadka and Dal Makhani were outstanding. Overall, this is a great Indian restaurant with a variety of options for those who are familiar with Indian cuisine. My recent visit to this restaurant was wonderful. The restaurant is a vegetarian establishment with a great selection of dishes. The customer service was excellent and the variety of food was impressive. The dishes we tried, including dahi puri, vada pav, paneer paratha, dosas and chai, were all very tasty. The only downside was that it is located on a busy street, so parking can be difficult during peak hours.

the half of the table was served first, eating for the second half of the table came more than an hour later. they told us that eating was vegan, but were informed retroactively that there were in most of our dishes milk. there were cockroaches and a rat in the bathroom and no soap. literal a standing urine on the bathroom floor. updated by previous review on 2019-10-19

A good indian restaurant with decent food. The taste is good and aunthentic to indian foods. The service is not as expected. There are not a lot of waiters and you have to wait to get things done. The price is moderate and worth the money. The medhu vada is really amazing here. Crisp and soft served with sambar and chutney.

I've been here since dozens of times since they opened and have not been disappointed. I love eating and the ambiente. I never feel rushed when it eats. I am vegetarian, so I am not sure how much of the menu is strictly vegan, but it is sure to have the whole menu to order from. Réservez une table maintenant

I tried the papdi chat, dahi vada, puri bhaji, and thandai at this restaurant. The chaats and puris were delicious, but I was disappointed with the thandai. I was expecting it to be creamy with almonds, but it turned out to be watery milk.
