It is comforting, able to go to a restaurant that is a neighborhood favorite. You're sure to run into friends. The interior is somewhat strange and they always had a large terrace. The service is friendly, but more than that. It's important. I have a food restriction and they not only accepted me, but the winter wanted to be sure that I was well fed and satisfied with my dish. It creates a relaxed atmosphere that is like home. BTW, you can speak English or Spanish there.
If you're looking for real, authentic Mexican food, I highly suggest this restaurant. I've been coming here since I was a child and everything is always delicious. The cooking here reminds me of the meals my grandmother used to make. They serve some of the best carnitas in Sacramento - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My favorite dish is their Carnitas Tacos.
"I ordered the chicken taquitos, but they were old and the chicken was just rolling out of the tortilla. The rice had no taste, but the beans were good and the salsa was too. The bartender needs help making margaritas, they were terrible. It seems like the customers were satisfied, but they don't seem to know what good Hispanic cuisine is."
The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff were incredibly friendly. They even took the time to sit down with us and have a conversation. I highly recommend trying their sweet tea, as it was far better than I could ever describe. Overall, this restaurant exceeded all of my expectations and I would definitely visit again. Had a late dinner on a Saturday night. Carnitas was the best! The Chile Colorado meat was dried out even with abundance of sauce by the end of the evening. The adobada meat was also tasting somewhat dry and a little tough to cut up. The guacamole was very good! Longaniza bean dip was also tasting a bit dated and dry...
Looks like an old run down house but don't let that stop u from giving it a try..the food is delicious..I was served chips and salsa and refried bean dip with chorizo...OMG!!! Soooo good!! I ordered a carnita quesadilla..it was huge!! That was also very tasty ? must give it a try
The food was good, but not as authentic as I had hoped. The portion sizes were also generous. I enjoy spicy food, but unfortunately they did not have any spicy options. I had to add my own spice.
This restaurant is amazing! It's a hidden gem. Three of us went for dinner on a Friday night and walked right in. We ordered chile relleno, molecular chicken, and carnitas. Réservez une table maintenant
We had lunch as a family here and it was great. I got the lunch special with two quesadillas, she got the avocado salad and the kids had the mini quesadillas. Thank you.
