What on earth has happened to Van Hage at Chenies in the past couple of months? All the carefully curated quality items are being sold off and replaced with low-quality goods. The café staff are friendly, but we waited 45 minutes for two toasties that were supposed to have goat cheese and caramelized onion. Instead, we received Brie with hot Branston pickle, which was quite unpleasant, along with stale crisps and a side salad. Today, we got two lukewarm coffees and a slice of cake for £15! This has always been a nice place to visit for quality products and a decent café, but now the goods are cheap and unsatisfactory, and the café feels like a rip-off. I definitely won’t be returning.
Nicely laid out, large garden centre carrying a variety of plants. They also sell a range of garden ornaments as well as tools, seeds, compost barbecues etc. The car park is large with plenty of spaces. There is a café with cakes on site too. However, there is nothing to set this garden centre apart from others. So don't bother making a special journey to it.
