I came from the US to visit our daughter. The first place she took me was Vapiano's. It's a fun atmosphere with great food and great service. I think I had the best iced cappuccino I have ever had! They put a splash of vanilla and raw sugar in it. The coffee they use is Illy (one of my favorites) I had a creat your own pastas with fresh bread and and cappuccino. The cost was 13 euro.Day 5.... I came back. This time I had the same dish (the cook remembered my face and my order... impressive!) This time I had a glass of wine. I say 14 euro is a great price! I loved all this place has to offer. I highly recommend Vapiano. My experience was wonderful!
This is a great experience for foodies and families. Huge prep/cooking area where you can see pizzas, pasta, and salads get prepared. Focus on fresh ingredients including little pots with rosemary and basil at each table. Nice (small) play area for kids; maybe there is more than one, I didn't see the entire restaurant, it has 2 dining sections. Loved the thin crust pizza, nicely browned. Carbonara pasta was a little dry and needed smokier ham. Reef and beef salad was hearty. Beef was super tender, shrimp was small and not that flavorful. Too much dressing so ask to go light if you don't want a puddle of soggy greens towards the end of your bowl.
It was too hot inside but the Terrace was not ready to have clients, ventilation was minimum, tables were dirty. Usually they don't have desserts and when they do have, they don't have personal you can ask for them or coffee. Vapiano was great a couple of years ago, but now a days is kind of mediocre. The food is delicious though and sometimes you find a nice cook.
It's a weird sort of self-service but I'll watch you cook my meal Italian restaurant. My shrimp Alfredo was DE-licious. My son said his pizza was as well, but my husband did not enjoy his chicken pasta dish. He said the chicken was not seasoned. I would visit again, though.
