What a great, albeit fast, meal my friends and I had here one Saturday afternoon. We had just finished up a day at the aquarium, and my friend recommended this place for a bite to eat before leaving town. Though it was a bear to get to (poorly timed red lights doesn't mix with Georgia Tech home games), the parking lot of very open at 4 pm. We parked and headed inside. LETS GO!!!! ' OK as in all of these iconic restaurants that I visit is because of their theme that I stop in!!!! The varsity did not disappoint fora hamburger hotdog joint opened in 1928....its huge...the burgers are not!!!! The burgers are reminiscent of this era in their size. The hotdog was quite delicious, and the bun steamed perfectly, the onion rings, and french fries. Very nice with most of the onion rings, being double onions together, battered and cooked. The varsity is such a nostalgic place and I remember going there once or twice as a kid! It still looks like what I think I remember it looking like as a kid!I got a chilly dog with onion rings and sprite! It was delicious and I highly recommend the onion rings!The guy who served me at the cashier was super sweet and got me my food super fast! My only complaint is.... it's hard to tell where a line started and instead of other customers asking if you were in line people would just cut in front of you when you were clearly in some form of a line.Other people seemed to love it there too!
It was intriguing to observe the efficiency of this large establishment. They seem to anticipate what customers will want to ensure a quick service experience. We tried the bacon burger (which was a bit dry), the chili cheese dog (lacking in flavor), a peach hand pie, a chocolate shake, and some fries—all prepared in just a few minutes. The onion rings and chocolate shake were quite delicious, while the peach pie was a delightful fried treat. Make sure to know what you want before you approach the counter to order!

I visited this restaurant during my trip to Atlanta for a conference. Even when the line looks short, it can take a while to get through to the cash register. The food is generally quite good, and they serve a generous portion of onion rings. However, the cherry coke tasted a bit watered down. Overall, I highly recommend checking it out if you're in Atlanta!
airport location- slow service, The burger is flat, dry with just meat and cheese, fries limp and greasy. Plus I was sad to see that the person taking payment, touching the register, etc. with gloves on also turns around and wraps up the burgers in the wax paper after handling the items out front. The gloves are for what????
What'll Ya Have??The restaurant is HUGE. Parking lot is decent. Didn't have to wait at all to order. Got several things on the menu. Everything was good and piping hot. Filling and decent price for what it is. Is it amazing food? No. But it's a great staple to try when you are in the ATL.
We decided to try The Varsity after hearing so much about it. The experience of the restaurant itself is what stands out. The food is average, but the service is commendable. We had a lot of fun and would likely give it another shot when we visit Atlanta again.

Diner atmosphere with basic menu choices of hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets. A la crate and combo meals available including a very limited kids menu. Lines move fast so be on your toes!! Clean bathrooms too with plenty of lot parking
An Atlanta staple that serves good food fast. Staff was friendly and helpful with complicated order. Seating was plentiful. Food was delicious but a little pricey. Always worth the visit.
