We went for a New Years Eve dinner expecting an intimate evening with friends. We were seated on the bar side rather than the main dining room despite having reservations for three months. It was extremely loud made worse when a family sat next to us with little kids playing with their new Christmas toys. The food was very good though portions were on the smaller side impacting the ‘value’ of the price fix menu. While the food was good it was not what we were looking for on New Years Eve.
Our table was located in the far back corner of the restaurant, uncomfortably close to two other couples. It was hard to focus on what my husband was saying because the other couples were quite loud and distracting. It's really not ideal to seat six strangers so closely together, especially when the meal costs $115 per plate. Unfortunately, this spoiled our evening. To make matters worse, our server overcharged us and offered only a minimal apology when we brought it to their attention.
We got a last minute dinner reservation here and overall enjoyed our food. The mussels were DELICIOUS uniquely served in a flavorful curry sauce definitely get this. We also loved the scallops, which were cooked perfectly, and the salmon (although it was a bit dry). Service was spectacular. Recommend for a meal, although there might be stronger options in the area. If you can, I recommend getting a table in the outdoor patio which is lit up beautifully.
The food was fabulous, but we were placed in the bar area where the lighting was super bright and kids were running around, playing with the ships wheel, screaming 8 pm). Again, since it was in the bar area, the lighting was super bright, and I didn’t really have the bandwith to ask anyone to turn the lighting down since I was grateful to have a reservation on New Year’s weekend! One of our favorite places. Our server, Renee, was fantastic; she understood our vibe and attended to our needs just right. Now that it's officially the off-season, we’ll need to change our reservation times, as the kitchen closes early, before 9 PM. We would have liked to stay for dessert and an after-dinner drink, but the bar was also closed. The food is consistently excellent.
Happy hour oysters for the win! I love hopping in here right as they open to grab a drink and a few dozen oysters. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating and the oysters are top notch super fresh and from a variety of places. It can be tough to get reservations for the summer, but if you're lucky, or willing to wait a bit, you can usually find a spot.
What can I say about Viera on Main? This restaurant is fantastic! It has an upscale feel, yet the vibe is totally Cape Cod casual. The food is creative, unique and delicious. They have inventive cocktails and a decent wine list. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. If you are in the Chatham area I highly recommend Viera on Main.
Dinner at Viera on Main was a wonderful way to ring in the new year. The prix fixe menu had good selection of delicious items! This is a great neighborhood gem.
