Was looking for authentic Italian food and sad to say this place was not that. Almost all of our dishes were so dry that we went through three bottles of water just to get the food down. I had the Rigatoni Country Style, the pasta and chicken were so over cooked you could not swallow them without water. My wife ordered the Capellini Carbonara frozen peas and the pasta was so stuck together you could pick up the whole bowl with just one fork. Kids ordered the veal Mediterranean and Chicken piccata and both were ok. Service was nonexistent and the place was half full and so loud you couldn’t hear anything your table guests were saying. The food was great and service was exceptional (hard to find in Cape May during summer). We went there for dinner around 7pm, didn't have a reservation, while the restaurant was pretty much full, but my wife and I were seated right away. The kitchen was definitely backlogged as the food did take a while, but our waiter, James, was on his game and more than made up for the wait. The food itself was also worth the wait, my wife had the Chicken Marsala and I the Gnocchi, both delicious, but the Marsala took the W. Went there on a recommendation,,Reserved a table 3 weeks in advanceThey asked for confirmation via email days prior in which I confirmed..Then while on vacation, I received another confirmation request that day (while at beach), in which I did not respond.Upon arrival, I was asked by the host (assumed owner) why I did not confirm the text confirmation. I stated that I already confirmed it once by email. He then said “I didn’t look at that”Then we were taken to our seats,6 adults and a baby. Before 5 of us could even take our seats, we were read the specials. Pushing us out in 55 minutesI will be letting my friend know not to give me any more recommendations
Very dishearted to see that there is so much bias. Went there on September 1st to get my hungry toddler some pasta she was asking for. I was told they did not have a table available when I saw about half of the tables in the restaurant were unoccupied with no sign to mark them reserved. Some people (caucasian) who just arrived before us without a reservation were seated but for my husband, my toddler and I (asian Indian), they did not have a spot available. We went to the restaurant across the street and enjoyed our meal among impartial restaurant owner/manager. Réservez une table maintenant
Excellent food. It is too bad me and the three other families in our party will never step foot in the place again after the owner felt it was necessary to quiet us down after we paid the bill and were waiting for some of our party to use the restroom….good thing my mother and aunts were not with us, we wouldn’t have made it past the appetizers!For good food, fine… but for hospitality, not so much.
Restaurant was very loud. Waitress was attentive in the beginning and then disappeared the rest of the night. She was terrible. Food wasn’t bad. My husband liked his chicken parm and my mom liked her lobster ravioli but unfortunately my chicken picatta was over cooked. The flavor was good but the chicken was hard to cut into. Not sure if we would be back if we are in the area again.
Absolutely loved dining at this place! The restaurant prides itself that it is a family-run operation and there’s no doubt that this is accurate! The food was delicious, service was great, and I loved that they gave us limoncello to top off the meal. Definitely will be back whenever we are vacationing!
