For our one rainy day we decided to treat ourselves to lunch. We had 2 recommendations to try Vilavella and they were well founded. The restaurant was buzzing with local families. The service was excellent, the waiting staff wonderfully helpful and managed our hopeless language skills with great humour. The food was generous in portion, delicious and well presented. We ordered local specialties, including goose barnacles and octopus to share, excellent, then enjoyed our separate mains. The duck was DELICIOUS. The veal and the pork were also flavoursome. A great lunch treat enjoyed by our party of four.
Excellent welcome by the waitress. She gave a good recommendation for an Albariño white wine to accompany our meal. Starters of house salad and scallops were first class. Followed by croquets and calamari, with very good quality chips. Excellent, hit the spot. Great service, well done all
We ate here recently while traveling in the area. While very small in number of tables, the tastes were superb. We split a salad, and my main course was chicken pieces with mushrooms in a wonderful sauce. She gave us a couple of tapas bites as a starter. Altogether an excellent meal!
Great restaurant and really popular with locals, always a good sign. The seafood is excellent with 'marraxo ' being our family 's favourite choice. The bar area is lively and great for tapas and if you want a more relaxed meal opt for the restaurant. Their desserts are good too.
