The tables and decor were the same I remembered for years. We have been going to Villa Lucia's since 1990ish when we lived down the block and have loved and shared this place with family and friends. When my parents moved from Redwood City in 2019 we had a last great pizza. I was in RWC last night and went back and have to say I was really disappointed. The crust and sauce are different. I saw into the kitchen that they had a stack of pre-made crust which was my first red flag and opening the box on the way to car was my second. My favorite #2 was buried in raw onions and green bell peppers and after picking those off later the pizza was meh.. no plans to revisit again.
Been patronizing Lucia's for so long I forgot. I will say their Pizza is outstanding. I like them all, but the 5 cheese is special! Joe runs a tight ship and after all these years, he's doing it right. The downside if there is one...too many clams on the Lingiuni and they're supposed to be with the shell. I know it's more work, I know it costs more, but I'm griping OK? For me linguini and clams should be a delicate dish. Will I continue to eat there? You bet!
Stopped by here for dinner after helping friend out doing yard work. Ordered xlarge classico pizza and chicken pesto pasta for 3 adults and 1 kid. When the pizza came out I was surprised with all the fresh tomatoes on it. It was garlicky and yummy. Thepasta was also very good and didn't skimp on the pesto and came with a decent sized salad. Portion size is good. We had abouthalf pizza left and probably half the pasta.
The ministroni soup was like tomato Pace. It was so thick not even any ministroni in the soup. The pizza was not cooked . This restaurant was very good once, now it's like?.Found out it's under new management. Never going back there again. Save your money fine a different restaurant. Excellent food and service. The chicken marsala was tender and delicious and the large portions made for lunch the next day. Waiter was great and service was excellent.
Lucia's is da bomb! Great Italian food, wonderful service and fair pricing! Recommend it highly!
