I dined at Villa Maria with a group of 14 work colleagues for dinner in a Tuesday night. We were a group of Canadians, Americans, and Argentines. None of us have ever been and we decided to try something new-we are thrilled that we did! The food was absolutely stellar. The menu was expansive, the restaurant is beautiful, and the service had great personality! We were waited on by one of the owners. The bruschetta is a must try with at least 10 different varieties. My husband and I had gone to Villa Maria several months ago and found it to be absolutely fabulous...home Cooked Italian and a casual atmosphere. We tried it again on the weekend and we're disappointed it did not measure up to the last meal. They'd moved to a new location. After 15 minutes we finally managed to find parking. Though the meal was good, the lattes we purchased were over priced and not up to par, and we were nearly done them by the time our dessert arrived. The tiramisu tasted like apple cake--dense, cinnamon, and sour. They gladly took it back and did try again with another piece. But it was no better and after the wait for the initial dessert it would've taken too long to choo...
We were having trouble trying to figure out where to park so I called the restaurant, the owner Danny stayed on the phone with me and talked me right into a parking spot! Then, we get seated and our waiter ( can't remember his name) noticed our table was a little uneven so... he Fixed it!! Then he offered us a free limo ride to the hockey game!! This all happened before we even got our delicious drinks and fantastic food!! The owner is out and chatting with people and his wife is the chef and everything is made from scratch!! We will definitely be back again and again and again!!
Villa Maria restaurant is a very good place to eat! We went there to celebrate a birthday and usher out the old Year and welcome in the New. The service was very good and personable. The location on 17th, convenient, as well as close to parking. Our meals were served in an efficient and friendly manner. We had a very nice antipasto platter, main course of pasta dishes and a wonderful dessert and coffee. The setting was intimate and the food was genuine and well prepared.

It's an ok place. They were out of any of the beer I wanted but the wine prices were generally ok. The appetizers were just ok and nothing special, especially the quality of the ingredients. The mains were also just ok. Most at our table ordered veal and it was tough so I assume a red veal vs white. Again lower quality. The sauces on the veal were good but they were skimpy on the accompanying veg and sides. For the price there are better places for Italian food.
We made a last minute reservation for Mothers Day. Upon arrival they seated us in the quaint room, very cozy that looks out over 17th Avenue. We loved it. The food was great and the service even better.We didn't feel rushed, enjoyed our meals and our evening was capped off with complementary Lemoncello. A great reminder of our trip to Italy last year and all the wonderful comp lemoncello there. We will be back and highly recommend it to all!
We were a a group of 6, we went for dinner on a Wednesday. We were the only customers! Service was great, very friendly. We order various bruschetta, all of them were excellent. All of our orders were excellent and service was professional and efficient.
