Liked the cocktail; the vegan dish (a lentil chickpea thing) was good, but tasted like something I could make for a lot less than $29. My husband 's chorizo tomatillo pasta was really good. The service seemed kind of amateur hour. The bus boy promised popcorn (instead of bread apparently), but never brought it. They were out of the listed NA beer. The drinks took a long time, and then the food came immediately thereafter. We had told them it was a birthday, and even though we had passed on dessert, they brought a chocolate caramel cupcake with sprinkles, which looked (and tasted) pretty childish. The waitress had some funny phrases, saying things like I 'll grab those drinks for you. The whole experience just didn 't seem very special (despite the personalized menu with my name on it). The decor was kind of tacky.
Nothing short of WOW! We had a fabulous birthday cerebration here last night. The food had depth, dimension and was just amazing. The pork tenderloin melted in our mouths, the lamb meatballs were exquisite, the salad had a unique beer/cheese vinaigrette and the striped bass was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and very attentive as well. One of the best meals we have had anywhere, bar none! Don't think twice-go!!!
Best restaurant in Santa Cruz! Such a hidden gem. I've been here a bunch and always have a great experience. Food, drinks, and desserts are all great. Hard to find a place with this good of food and service. The owners really care and it shows. If you are celebrating a special event they will print you out special menus. Very sweet! Prices match the quality. Not cheap, but definitely worth it.
