I'm sure this is normally a very nice ABC Store. It is very clean and organized. For context, I am 22 (almost turning 23 and despite being of legal age, the vendors here refused business to me. I think they assumed I was using a fake ID or something (despite me using my very real Driver's License . And so I just had to awkwardly leave without buying anything. Went to Harris Teeter next door and was able to buy alcohol (they scanned my ID there and of course it worked because it's a real ID! . And so if you've just turned 21 recently I would be cautious about coming here, as even though I am of legal age I felt very unwelcome.
This store had the only Octomore 12.1 available in all of Northern Virginia. I called near the the time of opening asking for the bottle to be placed on hold. I let the lady on the phone know, I will pick up the Octomore and purchase it in the evening time. The lady responded it will be on hold for me and if I don't pick it up, it will go back on the shelf. When I arrived to pick up the bottle, I was told it was already purchased and nothing can be placed on hold. Apparently, the lady should have advised me to purchase to the bottle on the site. Now there isn't any Octomore 12.1s available in Northern Virginia.

Staff is not knowledgeable of products and a lot of products are consistently out of stock which is probably a supply issue which i know is outside of their control.

The restaurant is pleasant, clean, and well-organized. I appreciate the variety of Bourbon and Rum available.
The restaurant has a limited selection. ABC should shut down and allow for a statewide monopoly.
