What a wonderful place with super service and very tasty food. The caprese salad with bufala mozzarella was amazing with a wonderful dressing. I had the risotto with chicken, peas and four cheese sauce. This was so good that the others kept asking to taste more. The other entrees ordered were ravioli with ricotta, fettuccini Bolognese, and linguini with lobster meat. All were excellent and served in ample quantities...better be hungry when you go here! The atmosphere was warm and the service was outstanding. This was well worth the 45 minute drive from our hotel.
Having booked well in advance we were look forward to our first night out on our trip to Chicago . Between the Bruschetta , Misto , Fettuccini bolognese and veal limone we were very happy . Then however our evening went downhill when our waiter after all of that started asking for his tip ??? . We had left cash on the Table but as he had not seen the tip on the bill he was not happy . This behaviour is not good enough and left a bad opinion of the place on us . Never again .
Volare is always a solid choice for authentic Italian in Chicago. This was our second visit to the restaurant, and we enjoyed our experience dining on the patio this time. Our waiter was prompt and accommodating, as this trip I needed gluten free options. The gluten free pasta bolognese was fantastic, and the portions are huge! Don't forget to get a reservation, as this place will be busy. We will definitely eat here again when in the city.
The lobster squid ink pasta was delicious (definitely enough to feed 3). The Caesar salad was solid, though the oil from the anchovies made it a bit too fishy for my tastes. The pizza was wood-fired, but it was pretty average. The crème brûlée was nice. The tiramisu was a bit too sweet personally, and portions were definitely for 2.Food: 4/5

This place impressed us tremendously! Service was attentive, food was high quality, wine menu was extensive. We enjoyed a great Brunello, had bruschetta, tasty main dishes, and gelato for desert! We interacted with the owner several times as he came by the table. Overall a great experience at an authentic Italian restaurant.
Everything I had at Volare was really average. The atmosphere feels kind of homey, it's a small place with lots of paintings on the walls and a bar. The risotto was a bit too cheesy, the calamari was average. The squid ink pasta was the best dish we ordered and even that was not memorable.Food: 2/5
I love Italian food and make my own pasta at home. This... this was the best Italian meal I've EVER had. The pasta was perfection. The flavor and the texture was amazing. I'm from out of town (about 2.5 hours away). I would drive here for dinner again.Food: 5/5
What a wonderful dinner at Volare. Fantastic food and stellar service! The bruschetta was excellent for a starter. Each of us had a different pasta entree all were superb! Dessert and coffee were perfect too!Food: 5/5

This was our first time here . Just decided to have a random Italian pasta day . Food wasn’t what was expected, they NAILED IT TO THE T . Everything was delicious , so were the drinks . Very proud customer . Food: 5/5
Haven't eaten a thing but Saturday night crowd and vibe plus service tells me this place is special. Bartender knows everyone, waiters long timers. Ambience pure Italian. Two thumbs up ? ?. Way up!
