Stellar show over the whole menu. Not a single miss somewhere that makes it hard to pick up the favorites, but I will try to meet the highlights: smoked squid in the schishito dish with lime was an excellent and unexpected combo, the black garlic with mushrooms was predictable, but tasty, and both scallop dishes (crudo of the day and the fermented u10s) together were a nice example of the possible texture. I would probably skip the Cobbler next time (unimpressive after everything else) and I wish I knew you could order the Hummer Roll-off menu outside the Happy Hour, but the disadvantage is that we try to get back!
We arrived a little early for our reservation to check out happy hour. Our bartender Jordan was helpful in selecting a few drinks and dishes. Good conversationalist. After an hour we went to sit for dinner where adorable Lily helped us pick out a few more drinks and dishes. Everything....and I mean everything, we tried was top tier. The flavors and preparation was *PERFECT*. We blew off this spot for years because of the Detroit food explosion. Much regret for not checking out Voyager sooner! Might be the top 3 Seafood spots I have had in my life. The drinks were well balanced as well.
There is a reason why this restaurant got accusations in national food magazines. EXCELLENT seafood. Very fresh. Great menu always with something unique I have never seen. Oysters are sometimes small, but they are so good. I'm not even much of an oyster fan, but this place makes me see why people are crazy about oysters.
Just made a photo of our first plate (crease) because I was so concentrated on all amazing foods before me! The oysters, buffalo halibut, caesar salad, mussels, crudo, drinks were all great and each dish on the menu was clearly created with talent and passion. Loved that they also mocktail options. I'd eat again.
