My husband and I were looking forward to the experience here for a year leading up to our visit yesterday. Until we met one of the new owners, BARBARA WETZEL. She is feared by her employees and a toxic human being. I'm a business owner as well, and was appalled by her style of communication. Dave and Janet, the original owners of the ranch should feel horrible about this acquisition. Think of a toxic CEO in NYC, that is BARBARA WETZEL. And to a customer. Myself. If she keeps this up, she'll lose employees, that's just how horrible top down management goes. I hope those folks find a better work environment. can not express how beautiful the ranch and montana land is. we came as a family of 4 from ny and left with lasting memories and friends. bar w offers a range of activities for all fitness and age. the child program is excellent! Among the highlights are the wild water rafting in the glacier national park, the local rodeo, the children's ruteo, the campfire singing along and learn how to ride a horse! bar w will take care of them, all they have to do is with a feeling of adventure and open to new friends and experiencing new things.
We spent the morning exploring some forest trails and had an amazing time! Our guide, José, was fantastic—he shared great stories and had extensive knowledge about horses. You could really tell that he loves his job and cares for the animals. The horses we rode were absolutely stunning and well-behaved. My partner had never been on a horse before, and now he's hooked! This experience is a must for anyone visiting the area.
Awesome Dude ranch vacay. My kids LOVED getting to ride horses on trails every day or take part in lessons. The staff was AMAZING and friendly. The food was tasty and the surroundings gorgeous! Great family bonding experience. There are plenty of non-horse kids activities at kids camp which is very flexible (kids can come and go ..mini petting zoo..paddle boarding... fishing.. the list is endless!

While planning our trip to Whitefish, we considered taking a trail ride. As horse owners, we were uncertain about how much we would enjoy it. Ultimately, we decided to go ahead, and we are so glad we did! Our hiking guide, Deb, was fantastic. The experience was tranquil and delightful, making it one of the highlights of our trip. We would definitely do it again!
We came here for horseback riding a week ago. We did the two hour trip and it was amazing! It was my first time riding a horse snd the staff and horses were great. Everyone was very friendly snd helpful the entire time. I would 100% recommend doing the horseback riding to anyone in the area at Bar W!
Two hour trail ride was a hit with our 9 and 11 year olds. Trail leads to a quiet and peaceful old logging trail. (Not sure who criticized the views but I completely disagree lovely! Great to meet true riders as guides Jose shared information about the local rodeo and inspired us to attend!
We visited the ranch in the morning and had a fantastic experience! We really enjoyed our time with the guides who accompanied us, and the horses were incredibly well-behaved. The ranch itself is lovely, and we hope to return in the future! Service: 5/5.

The new husband and I were visiting the area for our honeymoon (fantastic choice) and booked a trail ride with Bar W Ranch. Such a great time. It's a relaxing ride since you do no more than a walk and a great one for kids and families.
We did a 2 hour trail ride here and it was awesome! Our guide Anna and the other wranglers were super nice and they were experts in their field. We had fantastic time hopefully we can come back and stay longer next time!
