The most unprofessional service I have ever experienced!!! Spoken to with contempt on arrival as we had arrived 4 minutes after our booking which was made a day before, then pointed to an area where we should sit at a specific table that had no...coasters for our drinks, no menu’s, napkins or cutlery for our food though each and every other table was set up correctly for customer arrival. Then when we had our drinks we had to take napkins from an empty table for the landlady/bar manager to have the audacity to question my partner for taking the napkins as if she was doing something wrong. We are a family of 5 who visited on the spur of the moment. Food was absolutely fantastic! Our three sons had burgers which were excellent however the real star was the steaks that my wife and I had. Having had plenty of disappointing steaks we couldn’t have faulted the plates of food put in front of us. Perfectly cooked steaks, homemade onion rings, the chunky triple cooked chips and a tasty blue cheese sauce. When we arrived there were only a couple of cars in the car park, made us wonder why? The pub was really chilly, I asked if they would light the fire, was told they had no wood!! ?? The staff were young and not interested in us, no smiles no welcome, no apologies. Asked for a certain beer, told they’d run out, the beer that was served was like dishwater! Asked for lamb shank for dinner, told they’d run out! At that point we felt like walking out but as it was a Saturday evening we felt that we wouldn’t get booked in anywhere else. The food when it came was nice but we won’t be visiting again.

today as a table of 9. we were warmly welcomed and shown on our table. large selection of food, impressed by the menu. I had the Brat-Rind- and Lamb-Dinner, was brilliant. I also had the sticky toffee pudding, that was devine! my. sister loved the garlic mushrooms for the starter, the brokkoli and stelton suppe was a hit to children's dishes came with a full ice, good worth. my only criticism was the size of the flatbreads for the money. would definitely recommend and will return soon. thanks for a nice first visit.
My son and I had a great experience at this restaurant. We enjoyed well-cooked steak and burgers that were prepared exactly as we requested. Our large, overexcited dog was also welcomed. The staff provided excellent service, with friendliness, helpfulness, and thoughtfulness. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
this I have the best restlessness I have visited in all my 38 years. the staff was amazing and helpful, the presentation of the table and the eating was spectacular. full stars
