Wagyu-ya on chevron

This informal BYO restaurant serves authentic delicious inexpensive Japanese food. The service is friendly, polite and helpful.The printed menu is supplemented by several daily specials. There's plenty of tasty options for vegetarians, including vegans, beef lovers and fans of fish and seafood.Take away is served at the front but down a skinny side corridor there is a restaurant which is well worth trying.

From the street this is just a small 'hole in the wall' take-away business, but there is a dining area (with separate menu) down the side lane, behind the take-away. I settled on a Tepanyaki Chicken/Rice Bowl and sat at the tables on the street to eat it. A good sized serve and very tasty it was - although next time I'll ask them NOT to squeeze the mayonnaise over the top: Not authentic and not needed.

Great Japanese restaurant and is a hidden gem. Very good quality wagyu beef which you can cook yourself or have it cooked. I have also had the takeaway section on the Thomas Street entrance. Very reasonably price dinners. Gluten fee available too.

Wagyu-ya is a wonderful little restaurant. The food is consistently fresh and delicious and the staff are always helpful and friendly. I have been there many times and the quality is always consistent. Réservez une table maintenant

Been here many times and I never get sick of it, especially number 7 on the takeaway menu. Food is consistently delicious and cooked to perfection. Friendly staff too.

Good quality sashimi and presentation was fantastic. Loving the bbq beef your way and fantastic mini dessert that you can share.

I had a take away bowl, I guess it was No.9. I love it! It costs only about $10 but so yummy the portion is bit small, though.
