A restaurant, which is once again apparently operated by non-gastronomes. Because both ambience, cleanliness and service suggest that many basic rules of gastronomy are not implemented. The cook has certainly learned his craft, but creative cuisine is not when you serve a pea soup in the Wernesgrüner Bierkrug. It is also not common to entertain with other guests (known) for longer time at the table as boss or employee and not to take care of other guests.
Wir waren mit 9 Personen und einem Kleinkind am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag im Waldgasthaus essen. Großes Lob geht an die Küche. Die Gerichte waren lecker, schön angerichtet und wurden heiß zum Tisch gebracht. Trotz vieler Weihnachtsgäste hat Alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit funktioniert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Traditional Thuringian German food that's simply like home cooking. Many "wild" dishes such as lamb and elk on the menu. Extensive beverage and food menu. Charming, rustic atmosphere. Wonderful service. Loved this place. Will go back again any time I'm in the area.
