By chance we came across this wonderful Schützenhaus forest restaurant while hiking with our dog. Although the restaurant was very full, we spontaneously managed to get a place for 2 people and a large dog, so we were probably very lucky because it is better to make a reservation there, as it is always very busy here. We were warmly welcomed and made happy with excellent dishes. The good meal was of course rounded off with Palatinate wine spritzer. We felt very comfortable here and the landlord, his family and team were more than friendly and accommodating. This forest restaurant is our absolute insider tip. We had already reserved a table three months ago for a family dinner together at Christmas. When we arrived shortly before the reserved time, the table was not yet free and the waitress' comment was that she couldn't do it now, she had to seat us at two tables. Great, this is how you imagine a family Christmas dinner. When we pointed out that we wanted to sit together, she said there was nothing she could do about it. That’s it for us on the topic of Schützenhaus. We had a delicious meal somewhere else.
We decided to stop at the Schützenhaus with 4 people and a dog. Even though we didn't have a reservation and the place was pretty full, we received a very friendly welcome. The order was received quickly and extremely friendly. After a short wait we were served delicious food. It was plentiful, tasty and beautifully presented. The whole team radiates joy of life and fun at work. We felt very comfortable and will certainly come back. Thank you so much keep it up!!
Went there to celebrate my birthday with family for the first time today. Super fast service, even though the restaurant was very busy. Food great!!! Great value for money. Super nice staff and the owners are just great. A lovely birthday in a lovely atmosphere.

Have been here several times and always been completely satisfied, very friendly service, there is also water for the dog. Definitely try the super delicious cake. There is still room for improvement regarding vegetarian dishes and selection.
The food isn't bad even though I was disappointed with the currywurst. The shop isn't exactly comfortable and is way too loud. Unfortunately, communication at normal volume is not possible. The tables are also very narrow.
Very friendly service, good food, great sauces and crisp fresh salad. We will definitely come back and recommend you to others. And Theo the boss is a great guy. Thank you for the enjoyable and fun evening.

Good food, friendly service. Boxing Day was busy, but it was managed well and we still didn't have to wait long for our food.
