We were in the forest for the first time today. Normally, my husband's neck hair sets up when I say the two words: coffee and cakes, but even today he was extremely enthusiastic about the cake offer and the cup of coffee. The feeling of 20 different pie and cake variations leaves nothing to be desired. There's no combination that doesn't exist. The portions are huge and nevertheless cheaper than the sheet metal cake at the baker. The services were super nice and friendly. For the children there is a small playground outside the door. All in all: absolutely recommended.
This cafe should be planned for a stay in Freidrichroda. A walk over the GEO mountain path leads past, or you drive by car to the hiking park right in front of the door and hikes to the old Bobbahn. This makes it possible to combine a perfect trip with delicious cakes and very cozy ambience. In the cafe you can see many old things that have to do with the history of the pension with pastry. Very recommended!
The quality of the dinner is perfect and it is not expensive (eight large Wiener Schnitzel with good, self-made salad and pommes: 17,90 € or a very large fresh trout with parsley potatoes here is the service and the food! The service is fast and very friendly. Before the visit must be booked, as the dinner is only temporary. 18.00 and 20.00.
I think it speaks for itself when we have been here for several years 3-4 times a year to spend the night in the cafe, to enjoy the cake and then to eat in the restaurant in the evening. In addition to great motorcycle tours and hiking, you can spend your time in the nearby or other surroundings in the Thuringian Forest.
