As a southern German, I know brewhouses most from the Bavarian area. At first, here in Duisburg, near the impressive Walsumer power plant (even in the shade of it) I was able to find a very nice, original, well-visited brewhouse. My local relatives swear to it, they like to come here for family celebrations and small festivities, especially as there is a separate, somewhat quieter space where one is completely under. Otherwise, quite a lot of remmidemmi and a murder operation are announced in the spacious main room, whose “side arms” go over half floors. ..., ich bin über die letzten zwei Jahre viermal in Abständen beim Urfels eingekehrt, und jedes Mal war das Gebotene absolut in Ordnung (und ich bin ebenso pingelig wie gnadenlos, wenn es um meinen Geldbeutel geht). Meine Begleiterin probierte sich durch diverse Gerichte, die ich allesamt schmackhaft fand, ich selbst griff jedes Mal auf das riesige Bierkutscher-Steak zurück, das jedes Mal zu überzeugen wußte -- auf den Punkt gegrillt, saftig, ohne Sehnen oder Ekliges, und ohne Murren wurden Pommes Frites statt der standardmäßigen Bratkartoffeln serviert. So wünsche ich mir das -- vor allem zu akzeptablen Preisen.Was durchaus passieren kann, ist, daß es zu Stoßzeiten wie z. B. an lauen Sommer...
Wenn man nach vielen Jahren mal wieder die alte Heimat besucht, dann überkommt einen dabei auch gerne die Lust nach den ehemaligen kulinarischen Genüssen.Aber gibt es die denn überhaupt noch?Also ja doch.Nun zumindest, wie ich sie noch aus früher Jugendzeit gewohnt bin. "Rheinischer Sauerbraten", "Muscheln rheinischer Art" und Matjeshering auf Schwarzbrot stellen nur einen kleinen Auszug der Speisekarte dar, lassen aber unwillkürlich die Erinnerungen hochkommen, als Duisburg noch geprägt war von Kohle und Stahl, doch direkt angeschlossen an den grünen Niederrhein.Es geht deftig, rustikal und reichhaltig zu.Dazu ein f... The garden was pretty full and it seems strange that after being closed for so long they did not want to; make hay while the sun shines There were a number of disgruntled customers!
waren zum zweiten Mal im Brauhaus weil es uns beim ersten Mal gut gefallen hat! Leider sind wir beim zweiten Mal reingefallen! Sehr lange Wartezeit und eine unverschämte Kellnerin die wohl drauf aus ist das vorher empfohlene Brauhaus zu ruinieren !!! unverschämtes Benehmen und sehr zickig !! wir sind dann ohne Bestellung geflüchtet, so etwas muß kein Gast haben !!!
Nice brewpub set outside of Duisburg. Dark and light beer brewed on site. Had a pretzel and potato wedges as a snack and both good. Service is functional. Reasonable prices. English menu. Tram to Schwam and bus stop is around the corner...over the road) or minute walk as we did not find the stop in time for the bus!
