The place is great—they have Tuesdays “$1 Off rolls, so you should make a reservation or be prepared to wait. The food is great, but I’ll never go here again. Maybe I can see calling an order in, and picking it up To-Go. You can do that, too. Butlast Tuesday that we went, in August 2022, I think our meal took a good two hours. Most of the time waiting. From ordering outfood to receiving it was a good long One Hour. Nothing is that good, for me—if I were sitting at the bar swilling beer tequila shots, it would be fine: wait, no problem! Always a great meal! I got takeout from Wasabi Kirkwood to celebrate a special occasion. Everything was packaged well. I do think the lettuce in the bottoms of the cardboard packages could be omitted, as it wilts from the heat and I always throw itaway. I ordered the Washington and Philadelphia rolls, as well as crab Rangoon and the stuffed jalapenos. Tuna and jalapeno issuch an unusual combination, but I'm here to tell you it WORKS. And their honey wasabi mayo is unbeatable. In person, I tend tovisit the CWE location, but the Kirkwood location has always made delicious takeout in my experience.
I went to this restaurant with my wife and daughter, who was home from college. It had just opened and we were eager to give it a try. The menu was impressive, offering a variety of options including raw fish sushi and cooked sushi for American tastes. There were also plenty of steak and chicken dishes to choose from. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the new, attractive decor. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
We attempted to order tuna sashimi, but were informed that the sashimi was "chef's choice" and there would be an additional charge for tuna only. Given the already high prices, we decided not to pay extra for something that is usually included at other sushi restaurants. I settled for a tuna roll, but was disappointed to find that it came out slightly warm. Unfortunately, I experienced stomach troubles throughout the night as a result.

We choose to sit outside and were the only diners out there. It was very noisy from the traffic and service was very slow. They were out of both of the beers we ordered. We waited a long time for an appetizer and the server said it would not be on our bill, but it was. The sushi was good and we’ve eaten at another location and also found it good. The dining room looked nice and I’m sure would have been a better experience.
Omg this is the best Sushi and Japanese cuisine. They do an amazing job of pleasing your pallet at this place, and the beauty and care they put into every little detail of plating and presentation of their Bento box is exceptional. The flavor explodes on your pallet and if you love Sushi you have to visit Wasabi in Kirkwood
We made reservations very late on Valentine’s Day and got there early. We waited briefly at the bar but then hit a table right away. The staff was very attentive to everything and the sushi was so good. Nice menu broad enough to cover all tastes for sushi and well beyond. Beautiful interior also.
