Stayed in Watervale and had dinner at the Watervale Hotel, made a booking as Friday nights are busy with the locals. A very friendly atmosphere with locals milling around, staff very friendly, John gave us info about the wine tasting cellars in the Clare valley. Our food was great, service good, must have the beef fillet, very tasty.
We were taken here for a Pub tea. It is a lovely hotel full of character and there are a few characters inside as well! We were made very welcome, good old country hospitality! There were plenty of people wishing to strike up a conversation which was lovely. Our food was very good and service was excellent, would go back again.
It's good to see pubs that just do it well. The service was excellent, the menu comprehensive without the exotic dishes and the wood fire certainly appreciated. The dining room has been refurbished and provided plenty of space even with a child area. We'll be back and can easily recommend this place.
Although not inexpensive, this restaurant comes highly recommended by locals as one of the top hotels in the Clare Valley area. It was bustling during lunch on a weekday, but it was easy to see why once we tried the food. The menu offerings were excellent, and my wife and I both loved our meals. Réservez une table maintenant
Had a main meal serve of 2 piece fish and chips , and a salt and pepper squid. Food was fresh, tasty and absolutely beautiful. Salad was fresh. Shared the two meals between the two of us. Would go back again. Very friendly landlady and helpful with lots cal knowledge.
We had a pub lunch here on a cold Sat whilst cycling the Riesling trail. Great schnitzels and a really awesome home made pie. Good top notch pub grub and of course a nice line in Clare Valley wines by the glass. Would come again.
The best place to eat in the Clare district great menu, great value for money. Very popular. A very cosy cellar to check out or eat in if you wish.
