In town for a conference. Came here for dinner at the end of the first night. Drinks: — Strawberry lemon drop. This was the best FLAVOR I’ve had, but it was not so strong. — Apple martini. This was good, but I wouldn’t get it again because the pineapple is just a little TOO overpowering. This also was not very strong. Mind you, I only drink socially and I’m not social Starters. — Lobster and shrimp spring rolls. I did not get a picture but they were so good. — Fried green tomatoes with 1870. Not as good as I thought they’d be, to be honest. They were not nasty, just did not impress a few of us. One of the shrimp in my serving was very overdone and not pleasant to eat. Entrees: — New Orleans Style Barbecue shrimp. I started to get the Chicken Ya Ya and I wish I had. The shrimp were not so great. I expected spicy and they were not that. One other person had the same meal and she was not impressed with it either. — Blackened redfish. I don’t eat fish myself, but the two patrons who ordered this LOVED it. Dessert: — Crème brûlée. Of course I tried this again (which would make the third CB I’ve tried in MS this month (October) and the second I tried this weekend). BETTER. It’s definitely the better of the three. I didn’t hear much about the others, but there was also Praline Bread Pudding A La Mode, World Famous Black Bottom Pie, and Praline Cheesecake.
