Make sure to take some notes for this one because my husband tried several types of normal cards here and they wouldn't be accepted by the machine and so he had to go by himself down to the city to get cash and walk back up again, leaving our baby son and me sat in the beer garden.However, despite this, the service was reasonable (though speaking very little English - thankfully my husband speaks enough German). Stopped at this beautiful gem hidden surrounded by trees and natural woodland on my way up to the castle. Decided to have a marvellous alcoholic beverage made with a mixture of weiss bier and sweet green syrup called - "Weiss Bier mit Schusse"! I have never had this anywhere else in Germany and the syrup gave the drink a neat green color! Sipped it while sitting outside in the shade of the trees as the sun shone in all its glory!Will definitely stop by again the next time I visit this area of the Rheinland!
Despite the fact that this 300 years old restaurant/cafe is at the most touristy trail in the area, the Drachefels mountain, it`s NOT a tourist trap! Very nice outdoor sitting area with rhine valley view, friendly staff, homemade cakes, local wine and food - not even more expensive than cafes in town. A very nice exemption and a good example for high quality even in tourist areas.
Steeped in history with over 300 years in operation! This is a great place to sit and enjoy the view of the Rhine while restoring your energy for the remaining walk. There are many affordable traditional German food and drink selections and the service is excellent!

Walking down Drachenfels we discovered this gem in nature. Absolutely no tourist trap. Very friendly staff, great menu and for fans: gutbürgerliche Küche Great beers and wine. The view from the terras is stunning. We absolutely visit again.
Super location. Food was very delicious. Despite full restaurant, it was fast. Our waiter, Tim, was extremely helpful and good laughed. Perfect stop on the way to the Dragonfels.
While there is a beautiful one from during lunch, the food and gentleman serving was first class. As a family of 8 we had a wide selection of food and drinks and all loved them

Nice place to stop when walking up to the Drachenfels. Lovely athmosphere in the evening when all the lights are on. Place for coffee & cake or also more.,
