An inn. Regional cuisine, if you like down to earth Palatinate dishes, is in good hands here. The wines come from the direct neighbor (Gries Winery , clean, clear wines. My favorites: Riesling and Silvaner. Friendly service even when it 's full. Waiting times? Yes, sometimes when it 's very busy. But delicious food without any star claim (not even in terms of price . I 've been a guest there for over 30 years and the 'young people ' today make it as good and comfortable as the 'old people ' did for many years. We have been going on vacation to Rhodt for several years, probably the most beautiful place on the Wine Route. We've been to the Alte Schmiede restaurant at least 15 20 times because they have great food at reasonable prices, the staff are very attentive and the atmosphere is great. We found the wine bar by chance. It is a rather simple wine room with excellent food, very friendly service and of course excellent wine. We were very happy. Parking can be done in the neighboring streets. Since the Weinstube is quite manageable, you should book in advance. Very recommended!!! Food was ok, nothing special. The service was sometimes sloppy and unhelpful. When I asked if it would be possible to exchange something, I was told that they were on vacation and that wasn't possible. The heating failed so it was unfortunately very cold. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
