We stayed at a hotel on this lake during our visit to southern Germany. It's near the town of Fussen and King Ludwig II's castles. There is a walking path around the lake, mostly flat, but gets a little rugged along the south side. There is a small outdoor café at the west end that offers snacks and drinks. Very picturesque and I would go back again.
I love this walk, however you do need a good pair of walking shoes or candles, not really a flip flop walk in parts, you can cycle some of it but not all. There is an area for swimming in the lake with a little café where you can have a coffee or beer. Plus a few lovely places to eat near by. There is also fishing on the lake. Fantastic views
We visit Weissensee most years as the walking is good around the lake and in the forests leading up to Alatsee and Soberalm (in Austria but no border to worry about.)Wildlife can be interesting for nature lovers with many water birds on the lake and migrant warblers in the reeds and forests.
The restaurant just got in, then just worked out, asian owners. There was still room, but we were just told that they didn't have a place, and there were still buses expected, but the way that just didn't make sense. Réservez une table maintenant
in the environment is something for everyone you can walk, jogging, walking, cycling or go to the mountains. for families the lake is optimal with playground, badestrand or the easy hikes around the lake.
the white lake offers for guests water sports of a variety of types. 1 1/2 hour walk around the lake with always changing views of the alpene front or the alps.
The view alone is worth the visit. Nice with a small snack bar by the beach, and where you can get a cold beer. But the mountains - wow.

Great view of the lake, good kitchen and maintenance. It's a shame that the kitchen's running early, you're not gonna be late.
