We stayed in this hotel for four nights and on one of the evenings we enjoyed a very pleasant dinner in their restaurant. It is a charming old fashioned dining room with very comfortable seating. It's a lot quieter than most other restaurants in Garmisch - basically you can hear a pin drop - so if you are looking for a raucous night out this might not be the ideal place for you !I ordered the trout, which was perfectly filleted and accompanied by an exquisite almond shaving. The roast potatoes were sublime.The beers are local and very reasonably priced. I got the lahmacun mit dönerfleisch and my friend got the doner kebab. Both tasted good but were fairly small compared to what were were used to. The lahmacun was heated on a hot plate vice an oven (what I am used to...an oven gets the bread much more crispy). What was good was that this place had chicken and kalbfleisch (veal) on the grill instead of the traditional lamb or beef.
Stopped several times for a bier in their outdoor biergarten in front of the hotel. Food was on the expensive side so we skipped eating there. Waiters were very attentive but not pushy. Wandered through the front part of the hotel (to use potty) and it looked like a nice hotel- But NO PARKING which is a dealbreaker for us.
The location of the restaurant is within the hotel. Staff was courteous and seated us efficiently. I had the goulash soup which was a bit heavy with paprika but otherwise fine. It was not salty. My wife had trout which she enjoyed. She neded to debone the fish herself. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Tolles kleines Restaurant mit wenigen Plätzen. Reservieren kann nur empfohlen werden. Freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Das Fleisch ist super auf den Punkt zubereitet. Die Kartoffelecken sind außen kross, innen saftig und der Dip scheint selbst gemacht (lecker)!
We stayed at the Posthotel and only ate breakfast there. But if judging by breakfast, other meals in the day must also be terrible. There are plenty of good options in Garmisch, I would recommend to go elsewhere.
Had dinner on the 25 of December, and had a splendid time, the food was delicious and very well served. Quick waiters and the decoration inside was gorgeous and very unique. Recommend for sure.
This is a real good place to eat. We had a late lunch in the food selection was very good and the service was prompt. It was a quiet hotel restaurant that served a variety of good German food.
