Wendy 's says they are all about fresh food, fast. Clearly, no one from corporate has been to this store recently! Apparently, the health department has missed a visit or two as well! This saga begins in drive thru. They 're out of Diet Dr. Pepper which is not a big deal but that 's only the beginning. I ordered unsweetened ice tea, instead. She says, we haven 't had time to make any today, we 're short handed. I skip the drink. She says, the credit card machine isn 't working so the choices are just drive thru, pay in cash or order on the app. It 's an interesting order of choices but it 's not my restaurant. I say I 'll order on the app, I do so and give the code. She advises me that I 'll need to pull past the window, park and come in because there 's a new rule about no app picks up at the window. You must come inside. As I roll slowly past the window, the fast food cashier opens the window and starts yelling. Really? I stop, roll down the window, and she screams, You 're just gonna order and drive away? as a french fry flies out of her mouth! So gross! I refrain from saying what I 'm really thinking and tell her I have an app order and was told I have to come in. I park and go inside to pickup the order which the person at the counter has to go and retrieve from the drive thru window where it is sitting. Seriously? Yep! Just as quickly someone tells her she 's grabbed the wrong order. And then says she has to throw it away because app orders are now to be made fresh upon arrival, hence the no more drive thru. Apparently there are a lot of new rules at the local Wendy 's. On the up side, I figure the fries will be fresh, right? Nope! I ordered a double stack and fries. That 's really not an over complicated order, right? She stated the correct order as she handed me the bag. I should have checked right at the counter but I did not. At home, I unwrapped a chicken sandwich and the always hot and fresh fries are cold and limp!!! What corporate ought to do is fire the whole crew and start over. Yes, it 's really that bad!
