West Reading Tavern

The food was excellent, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The restaurant had a classic, dark, and wooden tavern aesthetic, but thankfully it didn't have that musty smell that often accompanies such places. The Bang Bang shrimp were sizable and delicious, while the calamari had a bit more spice than I expected. The staff was very friendly. Just a heads up, the kitchen isn't particularly quick, so this isn’t the spot for a rushed meal. However, if you're looking to relax and enjoy some tasty food, this place is definitely worth a visit. I received a recommendation to visit this place from the wonderful staff at Gem on Penn, just down the road, and it certainly lived up to the hype. I was craving a lighter hot snack, and the tavern’s French onion soup paired perfectly with their truffle fries. The atmosphere was enjoyable—busy yet not overcrowded, with happy patrons, engaging conversations, and attentive, friendly service. The food was served quickly, delicious, and made for a fantastic choice on a rainy afternoon. I’ll definitely return on hungrier days to explore more of the menu.

This restaurant places a strong emphasis on ambiance. However, the menu lacks a wide variety of options. The Duck Fry Fat could be quite addictive, but it seems the chefs do not prepare this appetizer themselves. Réservez une table maintenant

I love the old historical building. The service was outstanding. We had four appetizers and they were great.
