The accommodations are lovely—clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are generally professional, although some are friendlier than others. All rooms come with at least a small balcony. The amenities in the rooms are great, including tea and coffee, shower products, a sewing kit, and a vanity kit that features makeup wipes, cotton buds, and a nail file. The housekeeping staff are friendly and considerate. The restaurant offers nice views of the lake and serves good food. Personally, I would prefer to pay a bit less for smaller portion sizes. To make matters worse, when we asked for a takeaway container, the staff responded with visible disdain, saying, “We don’t do that here; we’re not like that.” I was really disappointed because I've never had an issue with this elsewhere. With a young child, it's common for them not to finish their meals, and we often like to take leftovers home. We dine out frequently at some of the best restaurants in Melbourne, and they typically offer us containers to prevent food waste. The food was delicious, but the service left much to be desired. We were eager to support local businesses impacted by the COVID lockdowns, but it became too much when one of the servers rolled her eyes at my husband while he was simply checking on our missing orders. The last server who approached us was outright rude in her tone, which prompted us to get up and leave. We didn't even receive the desserts we had ordered and paid for. By the end, everyone was extremely disappointed and frustrated. My husband and I felt embarrassed, especially since we had chosen this restaurant.
Mercure hotel was a nice stay with nice rooms, good size apartments and a decent bed. Front of house staff were lovely and nice. The food at the restaurant was pretty basic. The service was nearly the worst Id ever experienced. The restaurant was at about 2/3ish capacity, I waited 25mins then had to go up to the main desk and order my meal. Once the meal came out (which took another hour for a steak and chips) the steak was ok for a plain steak the prices are ridiculous for what quality is, in my opinion I wouldn't eat here there is plenty more to offer in the area. The accommodation is quite nice and the rooms are well presented and the house keeping is brilliant. Unfortunately the bistro is an absolute disgrace. Eating here for 17 nights it only got worse not better. Orders were constantly sent out wrong over a number of occasions, The middle aged girl with glasses running the show was rude and the food quality was not up to scratch. It's such a shame as the accommodation is quite good but the bistro is an absolute joke.
The West Waters complex was great for the short trip I had with work. The team at the conceirge desk were very helpful and were telling jokes having a good time which is a great way to start the visit. The rooms were good, but the bed was extremely firm. Still got a good rest and it is located directly opposite the Caroline Springs Shopping complex. Heaps of great restaurants in walking distance. The staff were very accomdating from a hotel service standpoint.
I requested a window seat when I made my reservation, but unfortunately, they didn’t note it. Fortunately, it wasn’t busy, so I was still able to get a table with a view of the lake. The food was standard pub fare but priced like a restaurant. The decor is showing its age, so while the views are lovely, I wouldn’t choose this place to impress someone. The staff were fine, but I noticed a lack of smiles.
Exceptional venue! The service I received was the best I've experienced in a long time. The staff on Sunday night were incredibly helpful, going above and beyond, all while wearing big smiles. We had dinner here tonight. The service was acceptable, but the food was quite average. The salmon was overcooked and dry—I could honestly make a better salmon at home. On the other hand, the pulled pork spring rolls from the specials were pretty good. Overall, I can't say I'll be in a hurry to return.
