Usually very consistent service and food. Tonight, however, there were some concerning issues. The five of us sat in the Center of the restaurant. The air conditioner was working very well; at times it was cold. Our drinks and meals were fine. My daughter had the gluten free Mediterranean chicken burger, she has had this before.The bun started to break apart as she was eating it. She just gave up and just ate the chicken. Two of our friends had the peach pie. It was a good size and looked good. It would have been better warmed up, although the flavour was good it was quite doughy. Called twice to be assured that they will be able to accommodate a group of 15 people without any issue. We were told although they don't accept reservations between 5-8 pm that seating us promptly would not be an issue. We even called an hour prior to arrival and again was assured there should be no problem. Upon arrival we were told that there is another group ahead of us that had a reservation and that we had to wait for an hour minimum until they cleared. A lot of time and frustrations would have been spared had we been given this information over the phone seeing as they only have one section available for groups. Nothing bad about the service we have had in the south Surrey/White Rock area. Tried the Chicken Picken's a few years ago. The first one was just **** before it's time. When they brought the second one out it was the same. Talked to a lady on the Net who told me their problem was that all the original people that cooked back in the day were gone/retired and they didn't really know how to do it. It told her I deep fry chicken at home and it is certainly a lot better than that ****. They sent a free gift certificate. Big deal. The hamburgers are all **** before their time too. we were treated for lunch at the "White Spot." It was a Sunday and it was busy. Always a good sign of a popular dining place and, we weren't disappointed. The servings were ample and the selection was really varied so, appealed to most appetites. The service and food was so good that we didn't even realize it was a chain. Often with some chains, the food quality drops off and, the service may be less than expected. Not here. definitely on my list for the next time I visit Maple Ridge, BC or find a "White Spot" in the area where I staying.
In today's restaurant environment all places strive to find good help. Training at white spot has to be good as they are consistent across the board. Although our your hostess didn't acknowledge two " large " gents tried seating us in a bench that twiggy would have had trouble she accommodated us immediately after pointing this out to a table. Our server Dawn was great. Right on the ball and my coffee cup didn't get empty. Lunch choices are many and both my pal and I were satisfied with a delicious lunch.
Had breakfast here - not very busy at 8am on a Saturday, but it got busier as the morning went on. We both had eggs benny - cooked to order, and the meal was served hot. Coffee refilled as often as we needed - the server was very attentive. A pretty good sized parking lot (free.) As I was visiting a friend we stayed twice as long as we normally would have for simply a meal, and nobody minded us keeping the booth.
First time back since the renovations have been completed on a Staurday evening. This updated restaurant has a nice bar / TV's / open seating! Plus the pirate pack meals for the kids are a great hit! Our server (Jasmine) gave us first class service and it was well worth the family experience!
I have always enjoyed White Spot. They have a great Gluten Free menu and do a great job taking care of my diet needs. They have great GF buns for their amazing burgers as well as some tasty GF pasta dishes. If your there for breakfast then get the Cheese Steak Hash. Very good!
