I really want to recommend this place and get it bumped up the list of top restaurants in Badenweiler, not least because it is German in a town full of Italian restaurants (why??? Good hearty dishes, massive portions, traditional decor. They also have a menu in English which is a bonus. I am suitably embarrassed by my terrible 'O ' Level German and deserve to struggle with my 'Gutedelrahmsuppe ' and 'tannengerauchter schwarzwalder schinken 's but it was a relief to be handed a full translation!

We went there after a half day of swimming, pretty hungry then! Nice waitress, classical menu, in agood way. Big portions, a bit old fashioned menu, but they know how to prepare food! Carrot soup soup of the day) was very good, and baked trout was more that good! Home made pasta spaetzle) accompanied a nicely cooked pork cheeks. Great place for a relaxed Sunday lunch.

This is a great local place with local dishes and local prices (meaning great value). If you want to discover the real local dishes, this is the place. The size of the dishes is generous. I can recommend the menu of the day: about ten options, all with soup and salad for 10-14 euros.

We had an evening meal here and we were pleased with the food. It was solid home cooking. Trout and soup to start, Cordon bleu fillet, Stroganoff and a pork dish with noodles. Very tasty and big portions. Service a little slow but they were busy. Recommended.

Beautiful small restaurant in beautiful Badenweiler with good local food and a feeling for the locality ... would recommend the Schnitzel!
