DEAD FLIES IN FOOD! Been many a time and never been completely satisfied however my latest visit was beyond disappointing. In my opinion the whole place needs restaffing with people with professionalism, good customer service and kitchen staff which obey basic hygiene regulations. It wasn’t until after ordering food we found out the only piece of cutlery available were spoons. The only condiments available were salad cream, brown sauce, Tatar sauce and pepper. 1st I was told the pie was chicken and leek pie but it was actually chicken and mushroom sage and mustard pie. Where do I start ? We booked a table on a week night for 8 people. The service was from two young girls, it was extremely slow service and the wait for food was ridiculous to say the restaurant was empty with exception of two people already eating. We had to complain about one burger, as it tasted of cleaning chemicals. Two of the Yorkshire pudding wraps, had beef with fat and veins. One of them even had the string from the roast beef! All meals were supposed to come with chunky chips, they didn’t at all they came with HUGE potato wedges with skin on and rock hard. Definitely not what was on the menu, they were awful. We ordered puddings, two kids churros (which were rock hard) and one adults warm fudge cake....

The service from the 2 young women was very good , very polite . The food on the other hand was very disappointing. The mixed grill was lacking in content quality consisted of a tiny piece of mostly fat steak, a small slice of gammon half a sausage piece of black pudding what tasted like yesterday chips. I was so unhappy with the meal that I asked to see the manager , but was told he was upstairs . This pub should not be serving food at all , It’s disgraceful and I feel for the polite staff having to make excuses for the food .
Came in for a sandwich and a soup. 45 min later nothing. When asked told there were problems with the gas!! Bullshit. Why would you need gas for this order. Used to be a good pub. Last visit.
called other day for food after a walk there was a rather long wait till food arrived 3 pints in couple trips outside for a vape finaly arrived but food was very nice
