Wimpy Birkenhead

Called in at the Wimpy one lunchtime this week and it was like stepping back in time to a retro (and better) fast food experience. I’m old enough to remember going to Wimpy Birkenhead as a child in the age of red and white plastic tables, and although it’s still in the exact same location, it now looks modern and more welcoming. The food was great cheeseburger perfectly cooked, on a fresh white bun with lettuce and diced onion and thick, crisp fries; and a tender delicious chicken wrap and the table service, cutlery and china plates were a refreshing improvement on the usual burger experience. The owner was friendly and keen to ensure our order was exactly as we wanted it, and that we had every sauce condiment we asked for. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and will be back to try the Christmas burger. Highly recommended.

Travelled an hour to get here as I couldn’t believe Wimpy was still a thing, I genuinely thought it had closed forever. It was so worth the trip, the food tasted exactly as I remembered! The service was 10/10, I can’t explain how kind and friendly the staff are. It was a great experience and I will be visiting again very soon. Thank you Wimpy

A blast from the past, great bit of nostalgia. Food was excellent and the staff were very warm and welcoming. So nice to see places like this still exist. Will be back again

Lovely food, reasonably priced, and exceptional service from the staff. Felt more looked after than any restaurant. Will defo be back!

2 latts and a glass of coke over £10, making it up as he goes along, the Lattes were £2.95 on the price list.....Get a receipt!!
