The 80’s night on Friday 8th December 2023 was a food disaster. Despite staff working tirelessly to get meals served there were unacceptable waits between courses that took from 7.30pm -10.40pm, clearly there was something not working in the kitchen area. When the main course did come there were inconsistencies. Some of our group had no roast potatoes, and roasts that had been served were rock hard. The Yorkshire puddings were flat and resembled mini nan breads, were chewy, and inedible. It stated meats on the menu and there was only roast chicken on the plate and everything was lukewarm or cold. Starters were basic served with bread and cold butter so hard it tore the bread when trying to spread it and the desserts were a lottery as they had run out of Christmas pudding, I did get some but it was also cold. Annoyingly cold food was a subject highlighted by other people’s past reviews and clearly hasn’t been addressed. The staff never asked if our meals were ok, consequently there was an endless stream of meals being returned to the kitchen making the time spent waiting in between courses even worse. As a group we must have spent well over £2000 on drinks and a meal that was atrocious.

Stopped en-route to Lincoln. A buzzy place with a carvery on the go as well as pub grub to provide a good choice. The carvery had a choice of Turkey , gammon or beef and many different vegetables. We waited for the turkey to come out of the oven and upon arrival it looked more boiled than roasted with blood coming from the leg area when carved by the chef. The commercial cooking process almost certainly ensures that the turkey was not undercooked but it was rather unappealing. Went for the beef which was ok but lacking flavour. Two meals and drink for around £20 was a fair price for what was on offer.

We booked a table on line and chose this restaurant as there was a play area for our 2 year old granddaughter. She had a wonderful time, we were served by an excellent waitress known as Lauren E, she was very attentive to our grandchild. The food was very good, the only problem, which is hardly anything. The cauliflower cheese, from the carvery, could have had more cheese. Although my macaroni cheese was excellent. We were not rushed and, beware, the puddings are enormous, and delicious

This place was excellent. Food was reasonably priced, and tasted exquisite. It was also really filling. I ordered the chicken combo and a steak. For pudding, i had one of the best sticky toffee puddings in my life. Food was really good. The chicken was cooked to perfection. It was delivered in a reasonable time, too. Staff were really nice and cooperative. Very polite and wished us a good night and a merry Christmas. Loved it here. Definitely coming back for more.
