My first visit to Wine Gum Café several years was on the recommendation of people at Chandler advising it was the best eatery in the district and that's where they went for lunch. Friends living in the area used to visit regularly for breakfast or lunch.Being in the area recently, my decision was to revisit Wine Gum Café for lunch. The number of eateries in the shopping complex has now increased but Wine Gum still seems to be attracting quite a reasonable number of clients, its key to success probably being the standard fare it offers, the board specials prepared in their kitchen, together with the quality of its food. For quite a time, I couldn't locate the menus (covered with a handbag by a...
Well to my absolute delight , I decided to break from my traditional bacon & poached eggs and decided to try the savoury mince - WOW. What sensational taste , it was that good that I nearly decided not to tell anyone else and keep this secret all to myself on the fear that the next time I go there there may me none left. Pretty selfish thoughts - sorry but honestly , I am going there again in the morning. It isn't just the savoury mince , their coffee is pretty damn good and even when it is busy, it doesn't take long for the food to come out.I introduced a friend to this cafe a few weeks back and she ordered smashed avocado on toast and she told me it was super yummy. The only complaint was t...
We dropped in for toasted sandwiches. One of us paid first and we asked if they would wait for others to arrive and order before going ahead and making this. They went ahead and made this so it was cold before we left the cafe. Sandwiches were wafer thin, over salted and glued together. You had to search for the tomato on cheese and tomato toasted sandwiches. First and last visit and such a shame is this is so nice and convenient. It really isn't hard to make a decent toasted sandwich. There are also great breads available other than a standard sandwich loaf.
Have visited this little eatery on many occasions. I like the service from staff that have been there for many years now. Mainly use it for breakfast and everything is cooked to order, hot and fresh. The staff know how to make coffee which is quite obvious as there is a steady stream of people turning up to pick up their favourite style, If your passing and got the breakfast munchies....well worth the stop..... I stopped in for a coffee and decided to have lunch at the WineGum cafe , there were a few people dining outside but decided to eat inside due to the heat. It's not the place for a quiet/personal dining expierence , the coffee was good and food was reasonable with limited choices . It's not a great place to eat at, but worth stopping in for a coffee.
Coffee good and friendly, prompt service. Ordered corn fritters with haloumi cheese which I thought was average - a bit chewy. My partner ordered savory mince which was a decent serve but tasted of curry flavours. The ambience was average - sat outside but it was a bit cool - no heaters. Would visit again for a coffee if I was in the area.
This cafe is very reasonably priced and has a nice atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating. The Merlo coffee is delicious and the meals we ordered for breakfast were very tasty. The portion sizes were very generous and the meals came out quickly - very impressive all round :)
