We enjoyed a delicious lunch with friends from the area who have often eaten here. The ambience invites you to come and explore. Authentic Palatinate decor is coupled with an outdoor terrace with huge parasols for pleasant shade. The menu offers regional dishes prepared and presented with care. Both our dishes of chicken and the Chanterelles exploded with taste. Excellent local wines pair well with the menu. In view of the quality, prices were reasonable. This is not a touristic slopeout, so be warned, you can experience some language problems that can be challenging but fun. The people at the hotel where we lived, CLEO recommended this place. It was so good that we had 3 meals there. Lunch and 2 dinners. Can say enough good things about eating[a mix of French and German, local wines and service. This is a very popular place at the locals so recommend a reservation especially for dinner. English is not a problem because the waiting staff is quite fluent and the menu is in 3 languages including English. We had excellent food and service here. The venue is quite large and has a wine shop on the property. Directly in the city of Kallstadt and with easy walking distance to the local hotels.
