Despite the many positive reviews, this restaurant had somehow escaped my radar; we ate here only because our hotel desk clerk recommended it and booked it for us, and we are so glad she did. This turned out to be one of the most enjoyable...dinners of our two-week vacation. Service was informal but professional, and the food and wines were wonderful. If you are here when meals are being served outdoors, ask for the private courtyard when reserving. It is a wonderful and secluded area that make for a great dining setting, yet this is just steps away from the Old Bridge. Highly recommended.
By this early July evening, we chose the lovely terrace for dinner. Very central and by the bridge, it’s also the perfect spot to see the life go by while eating. Even if a bit more stressed in this covid period, the service was excellent,...friendly and helpful. The menu offers a good selection of typical German dishes and huge streaks. Big portions. Tasty food. Good beers and wines. We didn’t found this place on TripAdvisor at first but rather on the Michelin guide app. A good reference you can obviously trust. Highly recommended when in Heidelberg.
My friend ordered the food for me 5 minutes before kitchen closed, I was late due to Deutsche Bahn had a delay for 1 hour. I was starving when I arrived here, but nothing is provided after we asked the waiters again, not even a...piece of bread. I am very disappointed and I am force to go the restaurant nextdoor and I need to go back to my freinds again to have drinks Here.

Forunately they also have a salad, but courses are very German. By the way there exist a lot of nice German dishes. We had a number of the different traditional ones, duck, pork, steak All well prepared and tasty. Super service, even on this...crowdy day. Remember to book a table!
We booked a table shortly beforehand via opentable as there are currently less tables available. Greeted friendly, menu selection not big but good. Food was really really good, vine too. Pricy but its a little fancy place and for a special treat worthy. Steak excellent.
I only stopped in for a quick drink and ended up learning about their local alcohol, which is basically different flavors of schnapps. The raspberry was really good, but the hazelnut was also quite good.

Traditional German dishes but with fresh ingredients and some twists, like mushrooms in the trout. I opted for a Wienerschnitzel, which was very satisfying. Good selection of wines and beers.
This place in the old town next to the bridge served up a nice selection of central euro food. Great service and quality portions.
