Very happy we stopped at the Kartoffelhaus. I am amazed how many delicious dishes the lowly, underrated potato can produce. Seating a bit tight, but nice atmosphere inside. Weather permitting, outside seating is even better, as the restaurant is in the heart of a pedestrian only area, in the middle of the square. Wonderful to have a good meal and watch the world go by at the same time. The potato pancakes with apple sauce, were THE best I have ever tasted. Crisp on the outside, not greasy, but moist and light on the inside. My sister had potato gratin with spinach, she said was too watery. I also had a baked potato with all the trimmings, but that is an American favorite we are all familiar...
