We had read on Tripadvisor that, at this time, the Wok was a good option. As opposed the the other Buffet chinese restaurant located not very far away. A place that we have visited 2 or 3 times previously. We walked from the Spain/Gibraltar frontier along the sea front, this in itself was great, and set us up for lunch. On arrival at the Wok, we were shown to our table which was in the middle of the very large restaurant. There were not many other diners. We travel to La Linea frequently but had not tried the Chinese Restaurant, preferring to eat tapas, etc. The good points: huge choice of dishes including desserts, and most of it tasting fresh: Charming staff who spoke no English (but this WAS Spain! : plenty of seating, though they prefer you to sit in the window, I presume to make it look full!. It looked as though you could choose raw ingredients and take them to a counter to have cooked for you, but as that wasn't evident we picked from the ready made food. Set meal for two,with the best bits for €35,started well with a salad,then we ended up with over cooked and dry bits for most of the rest! The Peking duck almost went into powder at one end,the pancakes had no moisture. The rest of it,,like the fried rice tasted lifeless and reheated. It really did not work,and we left hungry. The service was very quick,but their English was not so good.
A special meal for two persons, €40 including a large water bottle. Started with salad and pancake rolls, both were not good, salad with cheap ingredients and the pancake rolls were very greasy. Main course of Peking Duck was well presented, a king Prawn dish was tasty, and so was the Special Rice. Did find it dry as no dish was served in a sauce.

We visited this restaurant at Linea de la Concepcion, not sure if this is the same place? The concept works well, if you leave this place hungry it's not the restaurant's fault. The selection is plentiful, a lot of seafood (and meat). The buffet was 12,95EUR on Sunday.
Lots of variety: raw items to be cooked to your liking, cold items (e.g sushi), hot items (e.g. mooshi) for €14 euro per person ... especially after a day on the Rock !
The one and only time we went we were served tagliatelle in some sticky sauce instead of noodles. No joke.
