I could have stayed home and worked less than I did to have dinner at Woodpile. We have ordered takeout from this restaurant and the one in Clawson several times and the food is always excellent. The ribs are amazing, as well as the Mac and cheese. However, when we decided to dine in recently, the experience was not great. The food was delicious, but it was clear that they were very understaffed. We arrived around 5:00 on a Saturday and while the place wasn't very busy, the staff seemed overwhelmed. We were talking with the person taking our order and I asked which ribs they recommend. They told me their suggestion, but also said ribs are a very personal decision. I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! It was my first time here and I was impressed by the delicious BBQ. The staff was friendly and very attentive. They had a great selection of drinks and drafts. The food was exceptional. We tried the Corktown Taters, the two plate meal (with brisket, burnt ends, collard greens, and Mac and cheese), and the pulled pork sandwich. The chili on the Corktown Taters was especially delicious. All of the meat was very tender, even the burnt ends which can be chewy at other places. I visited this restaurant for the first time a little over a week ago and was impressed with my Cuban sandwich. Tonight, while deciding on my order, I read some reviews that concerned me. With a background in the restaurant industry, I paid extra attention to my takeout experience. I am pleased to say that everything went smoothly - my order was ready on time and the food was warm, well-packaged, and delicious. The portions were generous, especially the Corktown Fries, which could easily serve two people. I am happy to have finally tried this place and it will definitely be on my list of go-to restaurants from now on.

The barbecue at this restaurant is delicious. The pulled pork sandwich is tender, moist, and tasty, and the waffle fries are crispy. The lunch special is a great deal at $10 for meat, one side, and a drink. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. Parking is limited, but there is extra parking available on the street. The patio will be a nice addition in the summer. Overall, give this place a try - you won't be disappointed.
This is my second time visiting this restaurant, and I had a very good experience! We ordered the two meat combo with two sides. My favorite was the pulled pork, although I wasn't a big fan of the ribs and found the brisket to be just okay. The service was always friendly, the sauces were delicious, and overall, I have nothing negative to say except that parking can be difficult at times. We will definitely return when we are in the area.
When I came here with a friend, they had great opinions about it. This was my first time going to this BBQ place and it was a phenomenal experience. The bartender/server knew what she was explaining and went into depth about each one. Quick service and very helpful. And it seemed like she was also knowledgeable about the entire food menu. I would recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. The lunch specials were great!
A friend of mine was involved with this location's interior build out. I love supporting local and BBQ so we checked Woodpile out a while back. They are our go-to now. They are super friendly and willing to accommodate food allergies as best they can. I really like their pulled chicken with the hose BBQ sauce. Also, the sweet potato mash should be award-winning in my opinion. Anyway. Keep being awesome.

Very disappointed with the portion size especially for the price. We ordered the Pit Master Platter and Barbe Cuban sandwich. The meat in both was very dry. The sandwich was packed into a container and was smashed upon its arrival to us. The Key Lime pie was also very disappointing. Way over priced for the food received.
