Wu Wei Tea Temple

Let's me begin by saying I am incredibly saddened to write this review as I love the space, the concept, and the guests. The young woman who helped us with our drinks was also pleasant and seemingly kind. The management however, or whomever answers their phones, and the gentleman who helped my friend yesterday retrieve a sweater mistakenly left less than 14 hours earlier, were extremely rude in a way that left me and my friend jarred. It seemed so counter to the energy they are trying to cultivate here, and I was reminded of the pseudo SF hippie attitude, who will preach one thing and then act another. It's really unfortunate that is the case, because I would have returned again and again and recommended this spot, but now I find myself doing the opposite.

I've been playing at the Wu Wei open mic for almost 2 years.The Wu Wei Open Mic is a joy to participate in, and a pleasure to watch. The host thoughtfully schedules the acts, and works fast to switch them. He welcomes and introduces them with admiration, noting their strengths which is so comforting and encouraging even though his own talents truly supersede all the performers'. He attentively adjusts the mix for every individual, mindful that lyrics and poetry matter. He manages this fast paced show while always remaining gracious to patrons and appreciative of the fabulous staff. We are so lucky to have this open mic and comfortable venue!

An intriguing spot with so much to take in! The colorful interior and decor, the comfortable Morocco looking lounge seating and carpets, the mystic music, and the variety of teas were all a treat to the senses. The seating felt a little dusty, yet adds character to the place. Art for purchase on the walls. Parking was free for a couple of hours nearby over the weekend.

I went here for my first time and I will definitely be coming back! A server walked us through a traditional kava ceremony which was so wonderful. I loved the seating and the games/cards as well inside this place.
