So far Spencer Village is the closest thing to Singapore Hawker near my area (Cannington) and Ya Kwang definitely makes me feel like home with its Singapore's local cuisine. My wife loves this place too. Her favorite would be the fried kway tiao which tastes not too bad. The size is also quite decent. The owner is quite flexible in allowing you to subtitute the meat/ingredient (ie prawn can be swapped with other if you are allergic). The service is also quite quick compared to some other stall in Spencer Village.

Get to know this place from our uber driver. He raved about this Hokkien mee tucked in a food court in Spencer village. Of course i followed his recommendation and tried it out. Coming from Malaysia, our hokkien mee is black sauce thick noodles and my Singaporean friends have always told me about their hokkien mee is white sauce thin noodle. Upon trying it out, I was impressed by the Singapore version. Its just odd they serve it with lemon.

One of the many food stalls at Spencer Village, I often visit this spot to satisfy my craving for Singaporean cuisine. Their minced pork noodles are reminiscent of the ones I enjoy in Singapore. I also appreciate that they offer the option to substitute liver with fish cakes if you're not a fan of liver. The sambal served alongside the noodles is quite delightful as well.

By far the most authentic tasting pan mian similar to those in Singapore and Malaysia. Their slice fish noodle are also very authentic. My favorite dish from this stall is the pan mian. Then for other local hawker foods as well. Their prawn noodles are nice as well. Char Kwai teow is so so for my taste. Do give this stall a try when at Spencer. Réservez une table maintenant

Ya Kwang is virtually the only stall we visit when we go to Spencer Village. They serve the best Hokkien Mee in Perth, and their Char Kway Teow is simply irresistible. The flavors are as authentic as you can get, truly reminiscent of Singaporean cuisine. The portions are always generous, and the service is consistently quick!

The fried Hokkien mee was average, but it might be the most similar in taste to the ones in Singapore. It could use a bit more smokiness. I thought it was odd that they provided a wedge of lemon instead of lime. I’ll definitely try other dishes next time.
