If you are looking for a chicken parmi or burger then this will be your spot. Don't expect anything fancy; it's a pub. The whole place is decorated in red, black and some garish orange. There are two televisions; both are muted but one has the subtitles. Various pop music plays in the background. A game of billiards is 2AUD per round. The booth seating is comfortable. The (weekday) lunch hour is pretty depressing. Just a few people coming in from the cold and even a lady changing her babies diaper right at the booth! The drinks are reasonably priced but the fancy cocktails are lacking in genuine flavor and strength. The waiter/bartender gets a 5 star for amazing service.
Had a late lunch here of grilled saganaki served with smoked marinated olives and preserved lemon, $13.5, Oysters (GF) St Helens Tasmania Natural with shallot verjuice 1/2 dozen – $18. More tasting plate rather than a full meal, but very much enjoyed it. Table service was excellent, despite being only people in the restaurant section mid afternoon. Couldn't really enjoy the outside due to lots of smokers having a beer.
We were in Williamstown after a ferry trip from the Melbourne cbd. We happened past the Yacht Club Hotel and decided to have a drink. It is an open area with booths and it appears that it may "go off" in the evenings as it had what appears to be a stage area. We ordered some food and had their buffalo wings and other finger food with drinks. Service was great and their facilities were clean. Great spot for a break.
We just happened to drop in for a quick Saturday lunch. Not wanting a big meal we chose an antipasto platter to share. It was plenty for the two of us.It came with 4 pieces of bread & when we asked for some more bread we were cheerfully obliged.The waitress was very helpful & friendly & overall it was a very good experience.
