Yamato Japanese Steakhouse

We've eaten here twice this year. It was very crowded when we went in March but only waited about 20 mins for a table. Then we went in May. It wasn't crowded at all but it seemed like they were short staffed. We waited 45 mins to be seated. Then we waited waited before they ended up seating 2 other parties at our table. So they literally made us wait for more people to show up before we could get started. No one had come to take our drink order or appetizers. When our sushi finally came, our hibachi had already been ½ way done and was brought out directly before the miso salad. From start to finish, we were there for 3hrs. . . Compared to other hibachi resturaunts, this was OK. My sushi appetizer roll was sent back bc the rice was sour. The chef said it was the vinegar (my husband said he could smell the massive amounts of vinegar in the rice every time they opened the pot when we were waiting for our table by the sushi bar). All sushi rice should hve some rice vinegar but this rice was sour, as in it was old and about to turn. The lobster tail was overcooked- it tough watching your food overcook on the hibatchi table right in front of you. I was dining with my friends and one of them had a seafood allergy, she mentioned it to the cook and they still mixed the seafood with her food contaminating it making her sick. Luckily her allergy was mild but what if it wasn't? Please be careful next time! The food was great, though the rice was a bit too crunchy

My mom and I went for mother's day lunch. Food and staff were AMAZING!!! They were busy but they were well staffed. The gentleman waiter (didn't get his name) was great. Cook was great too. Food was Excellent!!! Réservez une table maintenant

I have never been disappointed. We tend to come here for special occasions. The food has always been excellent. The show the chef puts on varies by chef and ranges from ok to WOW.

The food is excellent, but no one ever answers the phone anymore. They should consider hiring someone to handle phone orders and inquiries.

It wasn’t that good at all. Over priced. And also they charged 20% for service regardless, for three of us. Do not recommend.
