Yangtze Chinese Restaurant

The Yangtze Chinese Restaurant is situated on Main Road, Blackwood and has ample parking in and around the restaurant precinct. It is open from 11.30 to 2.30 and 5 to 10 pm for dine-in and take-away meals. Decor inside and out is a somewhat sombre 70's style but the dining area has a welcome family feel aided by the friendly staff. The cuisine is westernised Chinese, so the extensive choice of dishes is quite familiar but cooked to a standard that is well above average for Adelaide. We've been coming here for years and it's our absolutely favourite Chinese restaurant in all of Adelaide. Excellent and welcoming service. Accomodate our diets really well. Young people here so friendly and lovely. Food excellent and always as we expect it to be. High standard. This time they made our daughter feel really special for her graduating year 12 with sparklers in her dessert that we weren't expecting!!! Just lovely and good old fashioned family restaurant atmosphere we just love. Not the usual noisy and clangy cafes of today. Waiting on the kids to fall asleep can be infuriating. Especially when you're waiting for "date night". In the end we opted for takeaway. I went for salt and pepper chicken. I didn't realise it didn't come with sauce. A touch too much grease but very tasty. The wife got honey pepper sizzling chicken and fried rice. We shared dishes and enjoyed both. We are on holidays from Perth and the food is considerably cheaper than than there and quite good value. We might have to go again before we leave Adelaide.

This is first time I have dined in, having previous enjoyed take-away a few times.The menu is extensive, the quality good and the service very friendly. We enjoyed a selection of dishes to share and all of them were tasty and satisfying.The only minor blemish was some dirty cutlery, but this was rectified quickly and without fuss.Happy to visit again for above average Chinese fare. We have had take away from here many times over the years & eaten in the restaurant on a couple of occasions. Staff are friendly & service is good. The meals are always fresh & they do some nice Thai style dishes. Good value for money & in the entertainment book which they let you use on a couple of occasions which is great.

Poor service. We made a booking but we were made to feel very awkward when we arrived as it looked like they just couldn't seat us. Staff were embarrassed and it looked like chaos. Don't take a booking if you can't accommodate your guests.

Typical westernised Chinese food - but boy is it yummy! Good, speedy service. Good sized menu. Dine in to let the kids watch the fish tank with Nemo and Dory. And they are in the Entertainment Book - savings!

Sadly the sweet and sour vegetables was simply a sugar broth from packet frozen vegetables and the noodles gluggy. On the expensive side for very low quality, small portioned food. Réservez une table maintenant

Have used this place a few times for take-aways and never been disappointed. The quality of dishes is way above average and the service is always quick and with a smile.
