Few can pass freshly baked goods from a bakery, and after a visit to Ye Olde Bake Shoppe, I suspect you will be here under the regular ones. The aroma when you enter surrounds you and creates an initial frenzy... what to eat, what to eat. And if you see their offers, you need restraint because everything is deliciously decadent. People meet to get their cinnamon balls. These are light and airy impregnations. Your donuts and croissants are amazing. They bake an excellent selection of bread and bread, and these are so tasteful. Cake, cookies and cupcakes break up. Take your pick-they will be delicious to everyone. If you don't see your favorites, ask how you might just come minutes from the next tray out of the oven. And right at the door are treats to feed the ducks at the nearby Agawam Lake, the perfect place to sit and enjoy your treats from Ye Olde Bake Shoppe.
I'm not often in Southampton, but on my way to the east I'm trying to stop here on my way to the inside. Or on the way back! You have to stop your selection of bakeries while in the Hamptons. Levain or deeds, etc. But this is the place to stop. There are two things I think are amazing. You have a raspberry crumb that should die for and last week I had the apple butter that is simply amazing. You also have a Danish cheese that is delightful. The store inside is super juicy and cute. The service is friendly and helpful. It's a throw from the way for me, but I'm telling you it's worth the trip. South of the highway on the Windmill Lane and near the city, if you are close enough to go safe in Southampton.
