I visited with my sister and my sister, who had carved about eating before. we were not disappointed. we choose three different meal times that were all excellent and really crumb. even if that wasn't my meal, I must mention it: the rib eye came with four huge juicy mushrooms, loaded crispy wobble rings, garden bass, a generous salate and much too many (beautiful non-fat chips, but best was the pfeffer corn sauce. it was so nice that we all immersed our chips in it until they were all gone. unnecessary to say we had no place for desserts. another beautiful thing, was that we were made to feel very welcome by all the employees and we were satisfied when the landlord/cook came to chat after service was over. sad I live an hour from my sister and she is 40 minutes away from this pub, but we will be back.

today with friends to lunch. honored by the owners and immediately made welcome. 2 roaring fires add to the atmosphere. for the appetizers we had garlic mushrooms, halloumi and dip, and black pudding and haggis stack in pfeffer sauce. all delicious and served with warm crust bread. net I had cooked the sirloin steak to perfection, friends had the homemade cakes, huh and lyn and venison and red johannisbeere with a many number of all included grooms. everything delicious, can not wait to return and try the Sunday dinner! definitiw one of the best places to visit in the environment of derbyshire

Just had the best Sunday Roast !!! Charming Olde Worlde pub and after a warm welcome were seated next to a glorious fire with finely polished brasses. We all ordered a Sunday Roast with lamb, beef and turkey on offer. Heaps of freshly cooked veg including creamed leeks and carrots/ swede etc. The hugest yorkshires and the portions had us all beat. Gutted I couldn't manage one of the tempting desserts. This pub is a little gem in a lovely village with fabulous hosts and the food is divine. We will be back !!! !

Staying in another local village this inn was recommended to us so we took a chance at lunchtime and were not disappointed. A delightful characterful old pub with a beautiful garden and views. The weather was kind so we sat outside with the dog (who was welcome inside too). A short blackboard menu of home cooked meals was good to see. The trout was delicious as was the chicken and mushrooms with tarragon sauce. Charming service and a really relaxing lunch. Highly recommended by us!
