Stayed for one night B B in the Derwent room. Lovely room, comfy bed, even had a complimentary bottle of wine! Staff were very friendly, smiley. Handy having the car park too. Had eveing meal, again very nice. Breakfast was delicious, the lady who took our order was super nice and very friendly. All in all fabulous stay, would highly recommend and will be definitely returning.
it was difficult to evaluate the stay as I booked one of their smallest rooms. but for a reasonable price, I would rate my stay very well. the room also came with a free wine, despite very small size. I had a pleasant fish and chips for dinner and on the morning I would say that I had one of the most delicious full English breakfast I ever tasted in my trip to Britain.
we came here a few years ago at garland day and loved this pub. we visited the garland day 2022 again, we decided that despite a series of other doubtless pleasant pubs close to what we knew we were stuck and we were not disappointed. the stanage stout was great and our meal times were delicious and not expensive in consideration of the great portion size.
had a night break with my wife 91 years young mother. great location with free parking it is an old building with character. the bar had a great selection of ales and fair trips. great evening meal and breakfast with excellent quality products. very friendly and efficient staff. back to the future
